Understanding ROS1
What it means: ROS1 rearrangements create fusion proteins similar to ALK. Found in ~1-2% of non-small cell lung cancers.
Why it matters: ROS1+ cancers respond to crizotinib (FDA-approved) and other ALK/ROS1 inhibitors like entrectinib.
Testing: Tested via FISH (break-apart probe), IHC (screening), or NGS for fusion identification.
