PERSERIS KIT (risperidone)

CNS Approved 2018-07-27

PERSERIS KIT is indicated for the treatment of Schizophrenia; Bipolar Disorder; Autistic Disorder.

Source: FDA Label • INDIVIOR • Atypical Antipsychotic

How PERSERIS KIT Works

The mechanism of action of risperidone in the treatment of schizophrenia is unclear. However, its therapeutic activity is thought to be mediated through a combination of dopamine Type 2 (D2) and serotonin Type 2 (5HT2) receptor antagonism. The clinical effect results from the combined concentrations of risperidone and its major active metabolite, 9-hydroxyrisperidone. Perseris utilizes the ATRIGEL delivery system to provide sustained therapeutic concentrations of the medication over a one-month period following subcutaneous injection.
