ANNOVERA (ethinyl estradiol)

Annovera is a progestin/estrogen combined hormonal contraceptive (CHC) vaginal system containing segesterone acetate and ethinyl estradiol. It is indicated for use by females of reproductive potential to prevent pregnancy. The efficacy and safety of Annovera have not been adequately evaluated in females with a BMI >29 kg/m².

How ANNOVERA Works

Annovera prevents pregnancy primarily by suppressing ovulation through the combined activity of the progestin segesterone acetate and the estrogen ethinyl estradiol.

CIGARETTE SMOKING AND SERIOUS CARDIOVASCULAR EVENTS Cigarette smoking increases the risk of serious cardiovascular events from combination hormonal contraceptive (CHC) use. This risk increases with age, particularly in females over 35 years of age, and with the number of cigarettes smoked.
