CLINDESSE (clindamycin phosphate)

Infectious Disease Approved 2004-11-30

CLINDESSE is indicated for the treatment of Bacterial Vaginosis.

Source: FDA Label • PADAGIS US

How CLINDESSE Works

Clindamycin inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 23S RNA of the 50S subunit of the bacterial ribosome. This action interferes with the assembly of the ribosome and inhibits the translocation step of peptide chain elongation, resulting in a primarily bacteriostatic effect against susceptible anaerobic bacteria associated with bacterial vaginosis.
