DIVIGEL (estradiol)
Divigel is an estrogen therapy used for women experiencing moderate to severe hot flashes and night sweats associated with menopause. How DIVIGEL Works
This drug works by binding to nuclear receptors in estrogen-responsive tissues, acting as a potent version of the body's primary intracellular estrogen. This binding triggers a negative feedback mechanism that reduces the elevated levels of pituitary hormones, such as luteinizing hormone and follicle-stimulating hormone, typically found in postmenopausal women. By modulating these hormone secretions, the medication helps stabilize the body's response to menopausal changes.

ENDOMETRIAL CANCER WITH UNOPPOSED ESTROGEN IN WOMEN WITH A UTERUS There is an increased risk of endometrial cancer in a woman with a uterus who uses unopposed estrogens. Adding a progestogen to estrogen-only therapy has been shown to reduce the risk of endometrial hyperplasia, which may be a precursor to endometrial cancer.
