How FROVA Works

Frovatriptan binds with high affinity to 5-HT 1B/1D receptors to produce its therapeutic effect. It acts as an agonist at these receptors located on intracranial blood vessels and sensory nerves of the trigeminal system. This activity results in the constriction of cranial vessels and the inhibition of the release of pro-inflammatory neuropeptides.
