NITROLINGUAL PUMPSPRAY (nitroglycerin)
Nitrolingual Pumpspray is a nitrate vasodilator used for patients with coronary artery disease. It helps patients with the immediate relief of chest pain, known as angina pectoris, during an active attack. It is also used as a preventative measure to help stop these attacks before they start.
How NITROLINGUAL PUMPSPRAY Works
This drug works by forming free radical nitric oxide, which activates guanylate cyclase and increases cyclic GMP levels in smooth muscle. This process leads to the dephosphorylation of myosin light chains, which are responsible for regulating muscle contraction. These events cause the smooth muscle to relax, resulting in the widening of blood vessels through vasodilation.
