POTASSIUM CHLORIDE 0.3% AND SODIUM CHLORIDE 0.9% (potassium chloride)
POTASSIUM CHLORIDE 0.3% AND SODIUM CHLORIDE 0.9% is indicated for the treatment of Hypokalemia; Metabolic Alkalosis.
How POTASSIUM CHLORIDE 0.3% AND SODIUM CHLORIDE 0.9% Works
This medication works by replenishing essential electrolytes. Potassium is the primary intracellular cation, critical for nerve impulse transmission, cardiac and skeletal muscle contraction, and renal function. Sodium is the principal extracellular cation, essential for maintaining osmotic pressure and fluid balance. Chloride is the primary extracellular anion and follows the physiological disposition of sodium. Together, these ions maintain the electrical gradient across cell membranes and regulate acid-base balance.
