TLANDO (testosterone undecanoate)

Endocrine Approved 2022-03-28

TLANDO is an androgen indicated for testosterone replacement therapy in adult males for conditions associated with a deficiency or absence of endogenous testosterone. This includes primary hypogonadism (congenital or acquired testicular failure due to conditions such as Klinefelter’s syndrome, chemotherapy, or toxic damage) and hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (congenital or acquired LH/LHRH deficiency or pituitary-hypothalamic injury). **Limitations of Use:** Safety and efficacy have not been established in males less than 18 years of age or in men with "age-related hypogonadism" (late-onset hypogonadism).

How TLANDO Works

TLANDO delivers exogenous testosterone, which serves as a replacement for deficient endogenous testosterone levels. Testosterone and its metabolite, dihydrotestosterone (DHT), are responsible for the normal growth and development of male sex organs (prostate, seminal vesicles, penis, and scrotum) and the maintenance of secondary sex characteristics. These effects include male hair distribution, laryngeal enlargement, vocal cord thickening, and the development of male-typical musculature and fat distribution.
