How TOBRAMYCIN Works

Tobramycin is an aminoglycoside antibacterial that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding irreversibly to the 30S ribosomal subunit. This action causes mRNA misreading and inhibits translocation, leading to bacterial cell death. In this inhaled formulation, it exerts targeted bactericidal activity against *Pseudomonas aeruginosa* in the pulmonary pathways of cystic fibrosis patients.
