How CEFEPIME HYDROCHLORIDE IN PLASTIC CONTAINER Works

Cefepime is a bactericidal agent that acts by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis. It has a high affinity for penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), which are essential enzymes for the final transpeptidation step of peptidoglycan synthesis. By binding to these proteins, cefepime disrupts cell wall assembly, leading to bacterial cell lysis and death. Its molecular structure allows for rapid penetration through the outer membrane of Gram-negative bacteria and provides resistance to hydrolysis by many beta-lactamases.
