COXANTO (oxaprozin)
Coxanto is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug used to manage the symptoms of various types of arthritis. It helps patients with osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis by reducing pain and inflammation. This medication is also used for younger patients who have juvenile rheumatoid arthritis.
How COXANTO Works
This drug works by inhibiting the enzymes COX-1 and COX-2, which stops the body from producing prostaglandins. Since prostaglandins are responsible for sensitizing nerves to pain and mediating inflammation, reducing their levels in peripheral tissues helps relieve swelling and discomfort.
