LO-MALMOREDE (ethinyl estradiol)
Lo-Malmorede is a combination hormonal contraceptive indicated for use by females of reproductive potential to prevent pregnancy. It contains two active ingredients: levonorgestrel (a progestin) and ethinyl estradiol (an estrogen). As an extended-cycle oral contraceptive, it is prescribed to provide a continuous dosing regimen to prevent conception.
How LO-MALMOREDE Works
Lo-Malmorede prevents pregnancy primarily by suppressing ovulation. Secondary mechanisms include thickening of the cervical mucus (which inhibits sperm penetration) and alterations in the endometrium (which may reduce the likelihood of implantation).
