Magnesium Sulfate in 5% Dextrose Injection is used for the management of seizures associated with specific pregnancy-related complications. It is indicated for the prevention of eclampsia in patients diagnosed with preeclampsia. Additionally, the medication is utilized to treat active seizures and prevent the recurrence of seizures in patients with eclampsia.

How MAGNESIUM SULFATE IN DEXTROSE 5% IN PLASTIC CONTAINER Works
Magnesium prevents and controls seizures by blocking neuromuscular transmission and decreasing the amount of acetylcholine released at the motor nerve impulse end plate. The drug also exerts a depressant effect on the central nervous system. Furthermore, magnesium acts peripherally to produce vasodilation.
