TRI-LO-MILI (ethinyl estradiol)
Tri-Lo-Mili is a triphasic combination oral contraceptive (COC) containing norgestimate (a progestin) and ethinyl estradiol (an estrogen). It is indicated for use by females of reproductive potential to prevent pregnancy. The medication is administered in a daily tablet regimen with varying hormonal strengths throughout the cycle to mimic natural hormonal fluctuations while providing effective contraception.
How TRI-LO-MILI Works
Tri-Lo-Mili prevents pregnancy primarily by suppressing ovulation through the inhibition of gonadotropin secretion. Secondary mechanisms include increasing cervical mucus viscosity to inhibit sperm penetration and inducing endometrial changes that reduce the likelihood of implantation.
