XANAX XR (alprazolam)
Xanax XR is a benzodiazepine used to help adults who experience panic disorder, including those who also have agoraphobia. This medication treats the symptoms associated with these conditions to help patients manage their health. It is prescribed specifically for adult populations facing these types of anxiety-related challenges.
How XANAX XR Works
This medication works by binding to specific benzodiazepine sites on GABA-A receptors within the brain. This interaction enhances GABA-mediated synaptic inhibition, which produces the drug's therapeutic effects. By increasing this inhibitory activity, the drug helps manage the symptoms of panic disorder.
