LISINOPRIL
Lisinopril treats high blood pressure in adults and children six years of age and older. It is also used as an additional therapy for patients with heart failure and helps those who have experienced a recent heart attack. By managing blood pressure, this medication helps lower the risk of serious cardiovascular events like strokes and further heart attacks.
How LISINOPRIL Works
This medication works by blocking the enzyme that converts angiotensin I into angiotensin II, a substance that normally narrows blood vessels. By reducing the levels of this vasoconstrictor and decreasing the secretion of aldosterone, the drug helps relax blood vessels and lower blood pressure.
