How LEUPROLIDE ACETATE FOR DEPOT SUSPENSION Works

This drug works by acting as a gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH) agonist that inhibits the secretion of gonadotropins when administered continuously. Following an initial stimulation, chronic use of the medication suppresses the production of steroids in the testicles and ovaries. This hormonal suppression is maintained during therapy but is reversible upon discontinuation.
