TRELSTAR (triptorelin pamoate)
TRELSTAR is indicated for the treatment of Prostate Cancer.
How TRELSTAR Works
Triptorelin is a synthetic decapeptide agonist analog of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) with higher receptor affinity than the endogenous hormone. While initial administration causes a transient increase in the release of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), continuous administration results in the downregulation of pituitary GnRH receptors. This leads to a profound reduction in LH and FSH secretion, ultimately suppressing serum testosterone to castrate levels.
